1:1 iPad Program
Shared responsibility, accountability and collaboration
1:1 iPad Program at Sunshine North Primary School
At Sunny North, we value high quality education. ICT has become a significant feature of our learning and daily lives. We are pleased to provide all students in years Prep-6 with an iPad to use in the classroom. This device is a supporting tool in student learning and promotes student engagement.
Our 1:1 iPad program allows students to lease these iPads, furthering learning opportunities at home. Sunny North provides students with an array of programs targeted to supplement their learning in the classroom such as Mathletics, RAZ-Kids and Google Classroom.
Students’ ability to find, evaluate and create information is enhanced through connecting with the world beyond the classroom. Through portable technology, mobile learning is possible anywhere and everywhere.
At Sunshine North Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all students use technology safely, respectfully, and responsibly. For more information please see SNPS Digital Safety Parents.
eSmart Digital Licence Program at Sunshine North Primary School
Sunshine North Primary School is proud to be part of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation’s eSmart Digital Licence+ program, supporting students to become safe, smart, and responsible digital citizens.
In today’s digital world, students are spending more time online for learning, communication, and entertainment. At Sunshine North Primary School, we believe it is essential to equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need to confidently and safely navigate the online environment. Through the eSmart Digital Licence+ program, our students learn about cyber safety, respectful online behaviour, privacy, digital wellbeing, and how to respond to challenges they may encounter online.
Each year, all students in Years 3–6 participate in an extensive Digital Licence program during Term 1. Throughout the program, students engage in a variety of interactive lessons, discussions, and activities designed to help them develop positive digital habits and responsible online behaviours. Topics covered include:
- Online safety and privacy
- Respectful communication and cyberbullying prevention
- Managing passwords and personal information
- Digital footprints and online reputation
- Identifying safe and unsafe online situations
- Developing healthy screen-time habits
- Building confidence to seek help when needed
The program encourages students to make positive choices when using technology and helps them build the confidence to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. Students work towards earning their Digital Licence, recognising their understanding and commitment to safe online practices.
At Sunshine North Primary School, we are committed to creating a positive and inclusive digital culture where students feel empowered, supported, and prepared for the future. Our involvement in the eSmart Digital Licence+ program reflects our ongoing dedication to student wellbeing, online safety, and educating students to thrive in an ever-changing digital world.
We look forward to continuing this valuable partnership with the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and supporting our students to become confident, respectful, and responsible digital learners.
