Leadership Welcome

Shared responsibility, accountability and collaboration

It is with great pleasure and pride that I welcome you to Sunshine North Primary School.

Sunshine North Primary School provides an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning community that aims to motivate and stimulate students’ curiosity, enabling them to become creative and passionate lifelong learners.

Our vision is to develop a community of empowered learners who strive for success in a safe and caring learning environment where each individual is nurtured and feels that they are a valued member of a caring school community. We use a strengths-based approach to learning where each student’s learning is scaffolded based on what they can do and challenge them to build their skills and knowledge by providing them with quality instruction, tiered support, meaningful feedback and time to learn. Sunshine North Primary School is well renowned for its commitment to developing the ‘whole child’ which focuses on the wellbeing and academic achievement of every student from their point of need.

We recognise students’ diverse abilities, interests and cultures and design learning to meet individual needs, using high impact strategies and science based instructional practices.

Our students’ learning is enriched by specialised programs in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Languages Other Than English: Vietnamese and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen and Garden Program.

Our values shape our vision, beliefs and way of being. Learn, Connect, Collaborate and Shine guide every part of our culture, relationships, and teaching and learning.

We strive to build positive partnerships with families and carers to ensure that they are genuinely engaged in their child’s learning and connected to the school. The school’s Community Hub provides a place for families to participate in planned forums and informal afternoon teas.
All classes and amenities such as toilets, canteen, resource centre, office and first aid room are housed under one roof line which facilitates accessible and safe movement for students within the school. The school also has a gym which encompasses a full-sized basketball hall for Physical Education classes and school events. The extensive and beautifully maintained grounds include three under shade playgrounds, a shaded basketball/netball court, newly constructed sensory garden, eco-garden, under cover passive/outdoor classroom area where student leaders run lunchtime activities that encourage friendships and inclusive play.

Sunshine North Primary School is committed to child safety. We strive to ensure that all children are safe, happy and empowered.
