At Sunshine North Primary School, we believe that all students should appreciate, enjoy, and use language to express themselves confidently. Through daily literacy instruction, we support our students in identifying and using the various purposes of writing, such as narration, transaction, persuasion, explanation, and description.

We provide students with explicit instruction in the foundations of the English language, covering oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension, enabling them to access a wide variety of texts. Furthermore, we cultivate a love of literature by embedding high-quality mentor texts in our classroom instruction every day.
