Shared responsibility, accountability and collaboration

At Sunshine North Primary School, we are proud to participate in the Refugee Education Support Program (RESP) to help make the transition to school as smooth and successful as possible for students from refugee and refugee-like backgrounds and their families. RESP supports schools to identify and implement strategies that positively impact student achievement, engagement and wellbeing, while strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community.

Through this Victorian-wide network, our staff collaborate with other schools to share effective practices, resources and expertise. Using a Whole School Approach, RESP focuses on teaching and learning, family engagement, community partnerships, transitions, and school climate, including student voice. Our involvement in RESP strengthens our commitment to providing an inclusive, supportive and welcoming environment where every student and family can feel connected, valued and empowered to thrive.
